Overview

The story tells of Kalsom and Samiah who were separated since childhood following a Communist attack during the Emergency era, but eventually they meet again. Bayu is Kalsom's grandson and is not interested in going to school due to problems occurring in his home. Meanwhile, Nodin, as a father, does not give his full attention to Bayu because of his lingering disappointment from losing his wife. Bayu receives attention from his grandmother, Kalsom, but it has not been enough to make an impact on how he grows up. As a child, he yearns for more attention from his father, especially since he grows up without the affection of a mother like his other friends. Bayu's story catches the attention of Teacher Wati, who becomes aware of her student's behaviour. With the help of her friends, Balqis and Sofea, who come from the city, she then plans to organize a learning campaign that can attract problematic students to attend school.
